Born in London, Vivienne St Claire worked as an illustrator before moving to Ireland in 1986. Painting professionally since 1993, Vivienne has held several solo shows and shown in many group exhibitions. She has had work accepted by both the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Ulster Academy for their annual exhibitions and has shown in galleries in the UK, US, France and here in Ireland. She sees her work as a journey, an exploration of the language of painting. For her it is about the emotion in the paint, the marks and textures, the subject is only the starting point for her painting. She currently lives and works in Kilmoyley, Co. Kerry, close to the coast, where a new journey has begun.
