These pebbles are from a very special place in Donegal called Port. Port is an abandoned “Famine Village” located on the edge of the Atlantic coast in Co Donegal. It is also referred to as a “Ghost Village” or “The Deserted Village” – a reference to the fact that a whole hamlet of houses just seems to have been abandoned to the elements. This area of the world is spectacular and also very peaceful. This painting shows the very unique pebbles found on this beach.
