Welcome to The Whitethorn Gallery

The Whitethorn Gallery is in Clifden, Connemara’s capital, which nestles in the foothills of the Twelve Bens mountain range in Co. Galway.

Situated between two other lovely galleries on the sunny side of Main Street – Clifden’s own “Left Bank” – we are very much a mainstream gallery, showing works by some of the best contemporary artists that Ireland has to offer, together with a number of fine European artists. We also participate in a number of shows and exhibitions around the country annually.

The gallery is owned and directed by the award winning artist Anne Merrins.

Web enquiries are always welcome, and we are happy to ship anywhere in the world. However, if you can, why not come and visit us in Clifden with its twin spires – there’s nowhere better on a fine day!

Charity Art Sale

April 10th, 2016|

Just a taste of some of the extraordinary work on view and for sale at the Charity Art Sale organised by the Friends of St. Luke’s this weekend on the top floor of the offices of BDO on Mercer street. A wonderful cause with work from €50 up to €30,000. We’re giving them a helping hand this year and it’s going really well so far. Last day today – and no doubt some bargains to be had – so come on down if you’re in the neighbourhood.
