Since childhood, Nóilín has always been fascinated by nature and the changes that occur throughout the four seasons. Daily walks in fields, wild meadows, gardens, woods and bogland provide familiarity and inspiration. Her work celebrates the transience of nature.
Her painting process is experimental. She is an intuitive painter who strives to capture a visual and emotional response in a painterly way. Her paintings are expressive with a strong use of colour and materiality. In her flower paintings she often scales up her subject so that the flower takes on a new presence. Her bog paintings capture the mood of a place that is constantly changing. She works from direct observation, recollection and imagination .
Nóilín’s work has been selected for curated group shows in Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, Drogheda Arts Centre and Portumna Castle, Co. Galway.
