Adrienne Finnerty is an abstract painter who works from her garden studio in Blackrock Co. Louth and her new home in Barna, Co. Galway. Working mainly in oils on canvas her love of colour, light and form lead her to experiment with all mediums including a recent exploration of installation work while on a residency in Puglia, Italy.
Her wander lust has taken her with camera to many exciting areas of the world capturing faces, places and inspiring rich bodies of work including her African and Brazilian series. Finnerty’s art is strong, bold and colourful, an abstraction of what she sees and senses around her. It is her emotional response to life in paint on canvas. Although initially studying Textile design, Finnerty’s work is informed by her subsequent interest and practice of Hypno-Psychotherapy and Movement, Sound and Colour Therapy.
Her work has been acquired by The Royal Dublin Society, featured on TV3’s ‘The Apprentice’ and has been commissioned by RTE’s Interiors show ‘Roomers’. Finnerty has featured in Magill Magazine, Irish Interiors, Business Ireland, Bimistral d’Art Cultura Bologna and Punktnovine Serbia.
She exhibits nationally and internationally and her work is in collections worldwide.
