Rolf Hook

Rolf Hook comes from a family of engineers, craftsmen, inventors and artists whose early roots go back to Holland and the South of England. He grew up in Germany, in the Rhine Valley. It was here in his father’s specialised workshop that he was first exposed to the medium of wood. After finishing college he trained for 5 more years with a distinguished architect in fine woodworking, graduating with a masters degree.
He has received several prestigious awards in Germany culminating with the highest award in his field – the German State Award for art in the Rhineland-Palatinate.

He seasons and crafts his pieces in his studio near Heidleberg in S. Germany where he has his wood and burl archive.
His sculptures, large and small, are exhibited all across Europe.
